There was a time when neighborhoods were arranged around town squares, a post office and parks. You could walk to the ice cream shop, and make it home before your last bite. The center of town was a great place to get the morning’s news over coffee, or catch up on the day’s events over a cocktail. Everything was in walking distance and, on the edge of town, the landscape returned to nature once again.
